This one cost me about $60 to make. It's high enough to where my skis slide on and off of the trailer easily.

If you do use pvc for a heavier ski like yours, definitely get a larger diameter piping, and do not use screws in it.

I built mine out of scrap 4X6 that a trucking company was throwing out. Then screwed it together with lag bolts. Works great. I built 5 of them to keep around the shop in different heights. Here is one of them. The taller ones just has the pieces double stacked.

You can slide a ski off onto the short ones easily but they have to be winched back on the trailer. I move the polaris and the GP1200 off the trailers every time their used. They get stored in the garage.

thats a CLEAN x2!!!!!

2" pvc for standups

3" for couches

another option is to get a furniture dolly and set it on a scissor stand....a bit more multipurpose, but lower..so not easy if you want to work on it

I recently used about 50 bucks in pipe and fitting, a pound of screws, and ~16 feet of 2" .40 and made a stand. I used a screw at every 90 degree of the joint.

I like it better this way beause 1.) Nobody on this planet will get the pipes perfectly glued into place and at equal lengths while using the primer/cement method. Nobody. You could probably do it if you built a jig, but hell, by the time you do that, you might as well have built the stand out of wood.
2.) As a result of not getting everything perfect, it's going to add extra strain on the joint, and when it gets cold... pvc cracks. Using the screw method, there isn't any extra stress from twisting and bend pipe to fit.

Just my $.02

Bottomline is, I went with more bracking, 2" pipe, and screws.

I will. But hey, I don't have a real intake manifold for my Lamey either...

That makes me the oddball! :naughty:

i never got around to actually stapling the carpet down. This was the height i needed to get the ski out of my truck. I had the wood and casters laying around. Probably $40-$50 bucks.

making 2 new stands

im going with my blaster design making it more boxy and sturdy possibly out of that bigger looks like 4 in pipe i like the idea of a pvc top for hull protection and a base of wide 2x4 for the large rubber casters for the wheels going over to harbor freight- first time. to get wheels and maybe check out that steel stand they sell and just but that deal. ido

for you guys making the pvc stands like yankee boys. take two pieces of your pvc and notch them with a hole saw bit the same size as your pvc. then glue them in the center for support and you will never have a problem. Or make two shorter ones and make an H between them. I wouldnt trust the pvc to hold anything if its longer than 2-3ft without support.
