Hood straps or latch setups

OK so after my near death experience. the coast guard had to break my hood straps to save my ski. So I am going to replace them. I have seen some neat setups floating around and am wondering if you guy could post some picks. I was thinking on using a setup like this since I don't want to drill anymore holes in my pole bracket.

Holy crap! What happened man?

I am using E.J.'s SS ratchet setup... it opens fast and easy if you do it right.... pull up on the ratched release, grab the end (tail) hanging out and give it a yank... it will release very quickly... you can see the tail i am refering to hanging down in front of the front foothold.

I just installed my NJFL straps. They seem like they will work pretty well. Unless you are in dirty surf I think the ratchet strap is overkill.

Great idea though, and I guess you can't overkill on hood security.

Wamiltons bungee hoodstraps all the way...super easy to take on and off and you cannot lose your hood with them on...

I fabbed up something similar for daytona that I thought woudl be temp, but I really like it!

for my F1 build I am most likely going to use a single 2" SS ratchet strap from EJ

you just drill two holes in the bracket and through bolt them with the supplied hardware...

nice...the ones I used are adjustable bungee's.....you adjust a hook on either side, and the hook just happens to be a perfect fit to the pole bolt....

the ones I used though are the bungee with all the little fibers..I like how yours is the solid rubber strap....

does it leave black rubber marks on the paint at all?

you guys think that a single 2" ratchet strap (EJ's) woud be overkill?

looks like the handle is pretty freakin' large..but I do like that nice fat strap....

if going this direction I think I'd use this 2" strap and thats IT

though I don't ride as crazy as some... my single 1 inch strap has never failed me yet. There was once on a side landed re entry attempt where it kinda popped a little side ways, but that was my fault for not tightening enough before going out. it was still kinda loose from trailering it. I try not to keep the ratchet super tight unless I'm riding in fear of ruining the hood seal.
