It cost about 75 to 100 bucks to have your exhaust chamber ceramic coated.

The ceramic coating will last for ever as long as it does not come in contact with any acids.

Also the ceramic coating helps to retain the heat inside the pipe and you can polish with a buffer or cloth with some metal polish applied to it.

I just did the top siide of my mod chamber this weekend. It really takes a lot of work. You first have to evaluate the number and depth of the nicks. I used a DA sander and took 80 grit (only briefly), then 120, then 320 to it. Then I used an 8" polishing wheel. It came out nice, but really took a lot of time.

I'm not so sure that the ceramic coating keeps its lustre forever in the salt environment. I used to think that. I now think that a highly polished surface can keep up with a ceramic coating, based on my experience with both.

Some of you are probably reading this and wondering what it is like to take a sander to your chamber. Yes, the first touchdown of the sander was indeed tough to handle.

I've done the same thing, works great, but I started 80 and went to 400 then a 3 inch wheel (something bigger woulda been awesome...

Do it twice?That's DooDoo
Bought chamber with discolored old powdercoating... stripped powder coating with low odor aircraft remover (about 3 applications) ..... then started with 220 grit- then to 400 grit- then fine steel wool- then used my 7" buffer/polisher thingy....

here is my chamber that has an almost new factory pipe powder coat and the polished chamber below... I decided to run the chamber I polished...

dont bother polishing the side you dont see... that would be a waste of time...
