we use those same type of ratchet on our trailer to hold the ski's down. they work good, and easy to open/tighten

nice.

butti runs 2 of those on his conversion boat......Ill probably do the exact same thing...

with 2 ratchet straps I woudlnt worry about a hoodlatch or additiounal hoodstraps

Anoyone else have any pics of their's to show? I'm getting ready to put a ratchet strap set-up on mine. Kinda' looking for some different ideas.

you could also use one the holes drilled for an aftermarket bracket like on the xmw one and when you throw those bolts in connect the straps there

i don't think that is very feasible. I still need to be able to dig my finger in there to release the ratchet.

And the ratchet will never be in the up position while riding,

you can also use an old 440 or 550 strap murphie uses one on his looks like it works great

I don't think it is feasible either, which is why I haven't ordered one yet. Even in the down closed position it seems to have some sharp edges just waiting for my shin or knee.
