scope it out some. if you see a bunch of waves picking up in one spot it's probably got a sand bar there. there is no inlet/jetties or reefs but there could be a sand bar, just like any other beach.

Sometimes where i ride in the great lakes the sand bars are killer. I have watched danceswithsuperjet bounce his nose off the bottom where we thought it was deep enough to stab. That may only be indicitive of the great lakes but we get nasty sand bars in the oddest places, you really have to know where you ride. Just check it out first and be careful, bring the back end down in a stab instead or keepin it tucked.

Even if it rains we can still ride right...long as there are no thunderstorms they won't kick us out of the water right?

It was forcasted as small and crappy today, I thought it was great. Waves were close together, but they would barrel down the sand bar and were 4-6 feet high in Smyrna. I came home with no more gas and two broken motor mounts. And my bendix was acting up. Looks like I'll be working in the garage a little this week.

Be careful. The sand in Daytona is like Cement (You can drive on it) It is not a soft bottom, but it is predictable. I am sure we will have some waves!

Saturday

Conditions: Glassy in the morning with SSW winds less than 5kt. Clean conditions for the afternoon with the winds shifting to the WSW.

Yeah, that was more pilot error. I knew it was that shallow there, but my plan was to keep the landing more shallow. I just hit the angle wrong. That little screw up did some nice nose damage!
