You can make it out of anything laying around. I used old lifevest strap and burned the ends of the knot.

The tow rope should go around your waist and be able to do a quick release in the rough surf.

you guys need to be careful making them so big especially in the rear..wouldnt be fun to get a hand or foot in there..

i thought the same thing. That would surely break an arm off. I am wondering where to get some elastic to make a limiting rope. I am off to the fabric store to see. I don't have mine on yet (ski is loaded already) but i have a bunch of rope from lowes i will use to make a tow rope and bow/stern loops once i can take my shirt off to work on my ski.

get the elastic rope at any boat store or ace hardware...you could also use a bungee cord if you put different fasteners on it..

Right on! thanks, i am glad i didn't step foot in the fabric store. That was close. Ace is the place.
