i would go and did go the watercraftfactory . good weight to strenght ratio and also nice look . pricing is comparable with others . they do have drains as well if it is a short hull the are inside . mine will be on the back . he is also letting me do alot of custom stuff to it as well . plus the battery can be placed in the center allowing for one of the new eme pipe configurations. i find it amazing people still contimplate waterdawg after all others have gone through.just a thought .
Yamasluts post is pretty much all of the facts. Except Lightweight isn't prepeg its wet layup. For the price you probobally can't beat Watercraft Factory. Lightwieght.de is hands down the best hull on the market available, but expensive.
Talked to Norbert for a couple hours in Portugal in April, he told me he doesn't use prepeg for jet skis because it takes too much resin away for how they are used.
IMO:
for surf...a 60-80lb hull is WAY too light....I think it'd beat the hell out of you if there was ANY sort of chop to the water--but on a glassy day or on flat, it'd be insane!
personally, I ordered a R.E.V. a couple of weeks ago and am totally amped for when it gets here--For what I paid I am VERY exited and know the hull will take a pounding
I rode butti's new hull for the first time in surf last night and was very impressed......although I just cannot handle fixed bars

no such thing as too light... only too heavy.
I want a hull that is 70lbs max so I can put weight where I want to and balance the ski to my weight and riding style... I will add all the weight to the bottom of the hull, which will increase stability and make the CG lower. My theory is that the lower I get the CG the better carving and quicker I can turn w/ out the added weight up high causing the ski to sway or be more difficult to handle... All really high performance vehicles stive for lower CG's for handling... I see no reason why a boat won't beefit as well.
In 20-30 min of work I could drop 30lbs off my boat if I wanted to hit the lake for a day... Then when I'm done, just add the weight back for surf applications...
idok, repeat after me:
"NO SUCH THING AS TOO LIGHT!!!!!!!!"
only bad setups
