Thats awesome that its paid for wow. One of my best friends is 74k in student loan debt and he is only 25, without a dollar to his name... Thats rough to start out!
that's the kind of statement that makes designers plot the deaths of engineers.I have the PE - I sign the plans.
Well living in georgia, the lotto pays for school if you have over a 3.0 GPA. I have HOPE scholarship, I dont pay a dime.
There are many jobs you CANNOT get without a college education, many require a graduate degree. College is for people that want to continue their education and get better jobs without a low salery cap.
Even a 2 year technical diploma is better than nothing.
I have a part time Job that pays 18 bucks an hour, for people that dont have a college education thats alot of money. I think it's a joke, when I graduate with my degree, I will be making 40 bucks an hour

I dont understand going to college. All my friends in school are poor and living like there 16, in there mid 20's, with $50-80k in student debt!!! Thats not the way I would want to start out. Just doesnt make sense to me.
That's not the way you're supposed to start out. Go to an expensive college and get a useless degree ie anthropology or sociology, and you're hopelessly in debt making below par wages. Go to a decent school and get a useful degree and you'll be banking after a couple of years. It's all about strategy. There's not a single career path that fits all people.
I have a 2 year and agree with some of it... LOL
Im with you.... heheheh :cool2:

what do you civil guys usually work on? roads, commercial, single family, multi family?
I do them all with a little more emphasis on single and multi family. I just finished designing my first superelevated roadway.

I've been at this for 6 years (since I graduated). In that time, I've doubled my annual salary. I just got a 12% raise - and If I left the firm I'm at now, I would expect a 15-20% increase in salary...but I'm happy where I'm at. I don't wear a suit except for occasional meetings with new clients. I come and go as I please (I don't get griped at for coming in 15 minutes late) - and we work a 4.5 day work week. how much is the signature itself worth? Hard to say - but a big part of the 12% raise was because I became a PE. The people in my office that are not PEs (but engineers) got about a 3-4% raise. Plus I get a heckova bigger bonus than them :wink:aand how much is that signiture worth?
They are paid well and can pretty much work as much overtime as they can handle.
Yeah, pretty much, lol. I just like ********ing around about it. It's so ignorant, its insane so yeah
