thanks alot freestylegeek i think that trim job is about to become a common thing on skis:smile: im actually more like 2 1/2 shorter with it being on a angle but im excited to ride it.right now im making my footholds up and im gonna move them 2in foreward and im gonna get my pole as far foreward as i can im making my own bracket so im hoping to gain 2 inches on that.i also seen that somewhere before.

I just used west system epoxy and 404 filler, and spent the $3.00 for 2 caulk gun tubes that I filled with the epoxy.
It worked great!
Steve at Watercraft Factory does something similar but uses chopped fibers instead of 404 filler.

im gonna be running dual oneways and dumping them into the pump area and also running my cooling lines and a tube for the trim cable other than sanding it to get it ready to reinforce can anyone think of anything else to do while the top is off cause the next stop in puttin the top and bottom togather for good?

also any suggestions on what to reinforce the ski with i dont want to add a bunch of weight and i dont want to be able to break it.i have enough 12oz biax to do it but want to be shure its strong i dont want to go complete carbon due to cost just one layer of carbon.also is their any alternatives to foaming a ski im open for suggestions.should i just leave it out?i planned on using i 3lb foam just wondering what everyone can come up with or their opnions on not foaming it at all
thanks

After a HORRIBLE experience with US Composites 3lb foam, I STRONGLY recomend using Fiberylay 2lb foam. It will fill voids better, and expand more per pour.

As far as the side reinforcement goes, fill in the bond line with foam, then cut it to shape, and lay a 5-6" wide strip of 7 oz unidirectional glass (with the fibers running perpendicular to the bond line). Then lay your 12 oz biaxial from hoodseal lip to hull edge all the way down. Most importantly, use a brush for your epoxy and spread it lightly and evenly.

You're doing a GREAT job!
