It is a biatch to install your first one, but I think it is more intimidating than it looks. I cant remember how long it took me to install mine, but it was a long time, I really didnt want to mess anything up.

If you don't get a lot of water in your hull, the OEM bilge pump or an electric bilge pump work fine. If you don't need a scupper don't install one, they leak.

I agree with the masses I think every ski needs at least one. But I have to say it is an easy job. If you can use a drill it is really easy. Just get a hole saw a fraction bigger than the PVC you use drill 2 holes and use the pvc to connect the 2 holes. Then some glue a few screws and your done.

I don't have one and don't plan on it. i've even got a scupper, tube, and hole saw in my garage. I'm happy with my dual bilge pumps. I also like finding all the stuff that breaks or falls off still in the hull.

you could just make sure everything is tight better not to have any thing fall off at all
they are easy but your fifst one is intimidating but do it mine leaks a little but if i know i am going out to see someone on the water i just put a squeeze ball in the tube no leaks then

When I installed one in my old square last year it was the easiest mod i did. Just read the instructions and make sure you cut the holes in the right place.

i regretted my scupperS when i was hangin on the pontoon with you guys!!

i think you need them in flatwater when going from trick to trick in like 3-5 seconds.. but in the surf, i THINK youre fine without them. at least if you have a good aftermarket hood and hood seal.

hmm...with the twin rule 360's...(NO 500's!!!!!!)...ive NEVER had a problem keeping the boat dry even when on the skipoon for well over an hour at a time....

i dont like jostlling around in choppy water wating for the pumps to clear the hull.....just gives a chance to splash up into the carb..
