I like carving behind large barge waves but sorry to say I have never been in the ocean. I can see where that would be a blast. Like I said though, when I go to the river I ride pretty hard for about 20-30 minutes and focus on 1 specific trick. Typically I only burn about 1 gallon of gas :bigeyes: I think flatwater is definatly more like work sometimes b/c it is so technical that you really have to focus on what you are doing and how your are doing it before you can loosen up and have fun with it. When I ride with freinds, just out of habbit, you will see me drift off to a spot that is completly clam and just practice. If I had my boat completed at Lanier I would more than likley be the guy out there first thing in the mourning when the water is smooth............choppy water is like nails on a chalk board to me :biggrin: My favorite time to ride is when the water is like glass. Completly oppostie of you surf guys. :haha:

I ride both. But there is nothing like the adreneline that runs through your body why your in the surf. I get fired up just thinking about it. Such a natural high!!!!

flatwater is really technical and does get boring/fustrating while waiting for wave days. thats propably why flatwater guys are so into any mods that changes everything from stock,the stuff that happens to make a great surf boat. its just something else you do for the addiction of jetsking i guess, some are all about the riding and some the also more into wrenching/riding. someday i'll make it to daytona for surf and sunshine and warm weather year round but until then i'm gonna flatwater mod the chit outta my superjet.:biggthumpup:

Power is great in flatwater but not as important as response IMO. I will take a responsive ski over a "powerful" ski anyday. Smooth predictable power is the key, otherwise I find you are constantly fighting with the boat. The best mod I have done to my ski is a good set of carbs and.........tune tune tune

Three gallons of fuel will weigh the same no matter what you put it in.
