Surf is down 1/2 foot or so from yesterday, but today was cleaner. Holding 1.5'-2' with a 3' on set. GLASS conditions....

spoiled bastard with those conditions all to yourself!!!

F ya! Had the whole place to ourselves the past few days, and put stupid amounts of HOUR in.

Im waiting on a few small parts from Art and Thrust. If i get them soon and my new motor starts up i might head up to break it in !

I have to swap the reduction nozzle out on the Rickter at the beach tomorrow....but ya I'll be there any day you want to come up.

I'll try to be out this weekend... will be my first time in the surf in over a year if I do make it though. So, I'll be RUSTY.

Hey, im not sure where youre staying or anything, but i live about 10 mins from the jet ski zone. if you need a garage, tools, or anything else while youre down here, let me know. you can also flush your ski out too if you want before you head back home. im not sure what your plans are, but im just giving you options.

So how exactly did you break the reduction nozzle?
I assume you broke the steering nozzle, too?

Thin wall on the bored reduction nozzle can break pretty easy with any impact. I broke one and the steering was just fine.

Huh, interesting. I broke two steering nozzles last weekend.
Well, *I* broke only one. Some other punk (thanks Dan!) broke the other. Turns out that putting a SF noob on my boat, with my motor, in 4 inch shallow surf puts that nozzle in danger. Who knew? :lmao:

The one I shattered broke from an over-rotated flip.

Yep thats exactly what happened. 86mm reduction nozzle just shattered, steering nozzle was perfectly fine. Installed a stocker to replace it and there was a HUGE loss of bottomend. Thinking I might try and install an 85mm to leave a little more meat there. I cant believe a nozzle bore makes that much difference! It makes my XS865 feel like my big bore 771 on the very bottom to mid...

I know, that's because you're reasonable and don't just pull the throttle wide open in 4 inch water like some people! :haha:

I think mine was 86.2... now I am at 85.5 which seems much safer.
