Hey everyone,
So I feel like I am finally getting to the point where I am ready to start some of my first freestyle tricks...but I don't even know where or what to start with. I don't exactly have the most ideal freestyle set up...I am in the process of purchasing a Super jet hopefully soon...but in the mean time I just have my 650sx. I was curious to know what some of your very first Freestyle attempts where when you got your 1st stand up...and if you could suggest a good newbie trick?? Thanks!

First time I rode with some friends with couches I did an accidental sub... Totally played it off like I did it on purpose too. LOL

This is my frist season with my SX together. First trick I actually tried to do was a couple of jump Subs. Do you ride with shoes or barefoot? I don't have footholds, I just push my ankles agains the side of the tray to help with the tail lift. I ride barefoot, but think I am going to start wearing shoes.

Next I am going to try a few stabs...

Do you have a bilge on your SX.

I wear shoes and I have the stock bilge.

It is great to see a female freestyler!!

Tail stands and slides are good first tricks.

Love your avatar BTW.

Slymo is my hero: http://www.superjett.com/jetski-videos-freeride-freestyle/index.php?path=slymo/

That is how I got started by watching and studying his videos.

Where in Michigan do you ride? Anywhere near Lake Orion?

Ok awesome Thanks, can't wait to watch the videos. I ride in the Howell/Brighton area lakes....I'm not sure how far I am from Lake Orion. Will you be at the Hot Hole this year? I will be attending for the first time!:bananapowerslide:

welcome to the X... we have some great girls on here, but there is always room for more!
your sig is 10000 times better than your avatar

old school, easy to learn tricks:
1. subs (riders were doing subs 10 years before footholds)
2. powerslides
3. the original barrel roll (powerslide on your knees and roll with the ski)
4. dive over the front of the ski and come up from behind.
5. hood riding (frontward and backward)
6. headstand
7. double backy

just go get the Larry Rippenkroger video for some old school flatwater tricks...

No he will not!
My wife has been obsessed with tail stands from day 1, she has a hard time with them because she can't get the ski to sink very well so she tries every time she rides.........you'll probably have the same issues but it may be a little easier on a 650sx as compared to a SJ. But if you're looking to put on a show, subs and fountains are always crowd favorites.

Your a solid hour drive from us - your always welcome to come ride with us.

As far as being at the Hothole, if I do it will be VERY last minute. I like Ipperwash better. Colder but nicer area to park/ride/party.

Katie's first trick was a bulldog on Speedfreaks SJ I can still remember her pulling it off now she is working on rolls.
