Year long engine issue, Now wont start

Maybe too simple but nobody has mentioned it yet...did you try some fresh fuel? I had a buddy go thru this on a sunday after riding all day saturday from the exact same fuel can. Finally took it to a shop, they put in fresh fuel and it fired right up. I'd love to say I've never seen fuel go bad overnight but we have no other explanation than just that.

Has to be water in fuel and water in carbs...A water bubble could be blocking fuel from getting to your motor.... Just open them up and spray em down with carb cleaner...reassemble

Im going to try jumping my start stop switch... but wouldnt it not get spark if the start stop was bad? I do get spark.

I blew up 2 stock waterboxes because of a bad start stop. It would let the motor fire intermittently and when it would fire bbl

my roomates ski is doing something simuler. all stock 08 superjet. seems to be running, but pegs off the rev limmiter (on trailer and in water) and also backfires/pops alot. replaced plugs, pulled flywheel & checked stator timing, pulled carbs apart and cleaned them, swapped CDI..still nothing. new gas...new filter. anyone have any ideas? sorry for the thread highjack

pull flywheel bolt and look at keyway, make sure it didnt break

My stock 08 is now having problems too. Memorial day worked great. Now, it barely starts, and when it does it idles rough, and dies with a throttle blip. Have new plugs and good spark and fresh gas. Only way I can start it is if I block off the intake ports on the carbs. Then it seems to clean up and i can throttle it. Also sounds like air whistling outta somewhere, or into somewhere. Where would be the most likely spot an air leak could just "appear"??

both of you need to get compression tests, check for air leaks, and CHECK YOUR REEDS!!!!!

xeon, you said you replaced your electronics, do you have an enhancer? If so, reverse the white wires. I had this happen, it causes the motor to trigger off when you let off the start button. Another issue I had was the wire lead that the start stop hooks up to that goes into the electrical box. Had a wire broke, it was causing all kinds of weird issues, but bottom line, the ski would not run right until I replaced it.
