yami vs kawi swap

i know been discussed a million times ive searched yada yada yada.

so for my 1 x2 im going to do the "basic freestyle mods" move steering. smooth hood. fixed steering. foot holds. flat deck.

now the important part. do i swap to a 650 yamaha and that way later on i can go bigger yami based motor. or put the twin carb 750 couch engine i have in it?

Well, if the choice is only a yami 650, then go with the kawi motor. If you can get a 701 instead, I'd go that route. Is the 750 a small or large pin? I'm going to assume large since its factory dual carb'd...

small pin. the couches had small pin dual carb.

benefits of the yami motor are not its displacement but the long term. means i could swap in a 701, 760, dasa 850 or whatever when one pops up. i just currently already have the 650 and i like free parts :)

i rode one and didnt like it. i know im screwed up in the head. ive got a conversion ski im working on but the backup is getting front fill. 6" shorter and flat deck with some more power to tide me over while my primary is down.

i saw that and it is so sexy. i considered the 750 with freestyle porting and overbore for now. and then graft in a bigger pump but now im getting into more work than i need on a backup ski :p lol

I really liked my 760 62t swap... but now i don't know. I am build a kawi 650 for the x2.

I never had it running right after the ski had a meltdown, so im sure it is tainting my view.
