Has anyone ever put a yamaha 701 into a kawasaki sxi hull? Just bored here and was wondering if it is even possible, and what would it take to do it? :Banane36:
wow
i was thinking that this weekend actually
i took my old 750 out and was wondering just how it would feel with my superjet motor
Me too... i like the handling of my sxi, and the power of my yami. I'd be interesed in doing it. I think it'd make for a vey fun ski! Anyone else ever tried, done this?
Not at all, I would think it would be a fairly easy swap...the kawis have nice flat areas for the motor mounts making it fairly easy to modify the mounting location. Throw a different coupler on your 701, figure out which exhaust will work and mount the Ebox.it would need the pump too from the superjet.
Yamaha already did that 14 years ago.how about doing something REALLY different..... put a 61X in a 550 hull, with a wide tray, and a RN pole. with a lil machining, anything is possible.

the stock kawi pump is a smaller pump if i recall
to get the low hit the yami pump would be better

Look at fx-1's. 122mm or 120mm( can't remember), i'm getting a bonzi bob pump for mine.
Sure but the 140mm pump is proven to handle the power of the 61x with ease, why do a ton of fab work to put an SJ pump and shaft into a 650sx to get a little more bottom end, when in the end you are still riding a 650sx :hitwithrock:right that they may
but a superjet pump is bigger
ie 144mm vs the kawi 140
well that's the point
why try and do any of this if you plan to leave the bottle neck in place???
