Me too... i like the handling of my sxi, and the power of my yami. I'd be interesed in doing it. I think it'd make for a vey fun ski! Anyone else ever tried, done this?

it would need the pump too from the superjet.
Not at all, I would think it would be a fairly easy swap...the kawis have nice flat areas for the motor mounts making it fairly easy to modify the mounting location. Throw a different coupler on your 701, figure out which exhaust will work and mount the Ebox.

the stock kawi pump is a smaller pump if i recall
to get the low hit the yami pump would be better

I am going to try this myself this winter. I want to put a big bore 701 in my X2.

I just plan on having a bedplate wings made that will bolt to a Yamaha engine yet have motor mount holes for Kawie mounts. You just have to make sure the coupler height is correct. And also that the engine is space front to back right so the couplers are engaged correct as well. I will either use thick aluminum or some stainless steel.

I will use an aftermarket Kawie style coupler for the Yamaha engine so the couplers mate up right. Another option people on here have suggested is to use a Tiger Shark coupler. The finhers are Yamaha style yet the threads are for a Kawasaki. But I don't know if they are 18 or 20 mm because different Kawies had different thread sizes on the drive shafts.

As for exhaust, I would just use a FPP exhaust manifold for the Yamaha engine, Also use a FPP head pipe and then pretty much any FPP chamber of your choice could be used. Say if in an SXR, a FPP SXR wet pipe chamber. In a 750 SX/SXi/SXi Pro, use a FPP 750 SX Mod chamber. In a 650 SX/X2, use a FPP 650 or SJ B Pipe chamber, ect...

As for electrics, you could just use the stock Yamaha stuff. But... total loss would be the easiest to to mountg in the hull somewhere.

I just wish someone would do this instead of me doing the fab work. I am lazy and don't want to think...

As for pumps, I wouldn't make life any harder on myself and would use the Kawie drive line. If you want a better pump, buy a mag!

right that they may
but a superjet pump is bigger
ie 144mm vs the kawi 140
Sure but the 140mm pump is proven to handle the power of the 61x with ease, why do a ton of fab work to put an SJ pump and shaft into a 650sx to get a little more bottom end, when in the end you are still riding a 650sx :hitwithrock:

well that's the point
why try and do any of this if you plan to leave the bottle neck in place???

and why use a 650?
the case mounting area on a 701 and 650 are the same
why not just put in the 701?

the origianl idea was to put in a 701 in an sxi hull

well
all a matter of opinion
some prefer the handling of the sxi hull to a superjet
