After all these years they are about to shut down Sunshine Speedway.

The people in the new housing developments started complaining about the noise on race nights.

So, the state did the "Eminent Domain" land snatch and are going to put a road down the middle of it.

Sad day when that closes.
really? that sucks. you'd think the people who bought homes there would know that race cars are loud.

kinda like the f*cking dueche bags that buy condos on the beach then petition to have beach driving removed... Makes ya want to slap a New Yorker

I think Sunchine has been around since the late 50's. One of the last three strips in the USA that are in or near a major city. When you go on a wednesday night there can be hundreds of street racers.....not racing on the streets.

People dont seem to get it that drag strips keep racers off the streets.

There are some Rich f'ers in Feather Sound that have some pull. That is probably how they got it snatched.

That's a damn shame. I should try to catch a race there before it shuts down for good.

My grandfather and uncle were my Dad's pit crew and my Mom, sister, and myself were his ultimate fans. My Dad passed away in 1972 and I still have the memorial flyer from the Speedway's program.

yep. ring snagged on the exh port in the front cyl. had about 10 minutes on it. we had just brought the boat back from the lake and had it on the hose when it just gave out.

i'm done with that motor. DONE! no mas. i'm running a fookin sanford and son motor now. straight up spare parts built basket case motor with any and every spare part i could dig up in the garage! including a bpipe.

:skull2:

that's what you get! welcome back to the ghetto where you belong. fancy motors with dry pipes are for rich folks.

i like trying different setups. that pipe and that big bore just had me drooling.

i'm not a believer in the 'everyone says its true, so it must be' thing.

how do you think the frankenstein was born?!?!

what can i say? :dunno:

that's my point, it was born of ghetto engineering. the throw away case and cylinder match together.
