Anybody ride one of these? How's the reliability, performance, handleing vs a YZ250/two stroke. I've got a nice deal lined up on a used one that appears well taken care of with an adult owner who's gonna buy another one.

I like mine so far, I bought it new ('08 leftover) a few months ago. I wish it had a little more power to be honest. I am not a Dirtbike Veteran or anything so I have nothing to compare it to, except my 1991 YZ80... its much more powerful.

they are slow. really slow unless you dump some cash into them...yamaha 4strokes are the most reliable ones out there...itll will be heavier and slower than a yz smoker but they are good trailbikes, especially for a beginner. a regular yz250f would be a better choice if you want to stick with the fourstroke

I just wanted to clarify... the WR250F is much more powerful than my old YZ80, it didn't read right up top. I plan to use it on the road almost every day in the summer so I think the WR is a good choice for me.

With the free mods it is supposed to run similar to the YZF except for the cam timing, and gearing.

ok ive done some tinkering with my wr but its the best bike i have every owned . power is great and its just a great all round bike . race or trail riding and you just cant go past electric start

I ended up buying a yz250f. Deal fell through on the WR. It was an 01. Got a decent price on a 03. Seems to be well taken care of...original owner had it and bought a new KX250 smoker last year and this has been relegated to the garage. Picked it up for $1600. All is good to go with valves/cam. Will need a new clutch though. See if I can't post a pic sometime soon. Anyone ride in Ga? I'm looking at Durhamtown and Echeconee for riding spots.

echeconne is my favorite track ever. Its rough rough rough on race weekends. We are riding almost every weekend up here (just west of ATL.) Shoot me a pm and i will give you my number and we can go ride!

We just tried this place called AMP MX and it was very very good! We will be heading there again shortly!
