Mine looks like this but with a bolt down in it. The steering stop is built into the pole :dunno:

Sounds like it is a 1st generation pole.
Pat added the rib (or Matt Bol Mod [MBM]) in the 3rd generation (current) design.

Is the hole through there threaded?
If so, you will need a nut on your bolt to act as a steering stop.

Make sure you call Pat and talk it over with him.
He will GLADLY help you out.

BTW, congrats on the pole!
There's no going back now!

looks like i have a 2nd gen then? mine has some smaller version of the MBM 3rd gen stop .. my green ski also had a stop welded on to it.. its the black pole in the pics below.. i took the pic of my black pole on the kitchen counter at my old house a few years ago when i first set up xmetalworks.com (the pic on the homepage of xmetalworks on the white sheet is the pole that was on my green ski before we painted it), so you must have a reallly old pole? is it possible they forgot to weld the stop on it? ??

my current pole's stop setup are the close-up pics.. 2nd gen??

still the one I have is differnt...I meant to shoot a pic of it today....there's definatly something missing....

i dont even have that little barrel where the bolt screws into......mine is totally FLUSH

you have to adjust your adjustments on the cable, may have to cut it some, you should hit the stop turning both directions

i looked at it the other night.there is no way there is enough adjustment.the cable stops the turnplate like 3/4 of an inch away from the stop/bolt
