Why would you wanna? the one of the bets things about a XMW pole is getting a good tighten on those bolts. I will never go back to a spring setup

Jessie, not everybody likes the stiff pole setup, I have even thought about putting a spring on, it can be done, but you may have to only run one breather tube for it to fit, may have to modify the spring to fit, but, only a UMI or RIVA spring will work the blowsion spring would not work

The XMW bracket doesn't provide for a spring to be installed. I think you might be able to do it with any bracket that was meant for a spring. I don't see why the pole itself would make it not work.

Yes....but it's the long end of the spring, if I recall correctly. It should fit in the XMW pole just fine. That end will push against the back of the top of the pole

yeah but I'm picky. Mine needs to be weightless and free moving. So far my stock pole reinforced with a limiting rope seem to be holding up better then the aftermarket ones. But I would like to try an x-metal if it had a spring.
I just reinforced 2 stockers, I should post some pics. They are super clean.

The pole isn't the deciding factor.
A spring should work on an X-metal pole just as easy as it does a stock, AC, or UMI.

The real issue is the bracket.

You will tear the sh*t out of your paint (and fiberglass) if you aren't carefull trying to get the bolt, pole, and spring in. The bracket is low enough that you need to have an angle to the bolt in order to get the end of it over the edge of the hull. A spring wants it level and not angled down, this causes problems when trying to fit the bolt in place. I learned the hard way and ended up super gluing my paint/fiberglass back in.
This was all done with an AC pole and an X-metal bracket. The problem I ran into was the fact that the bracket doesn't have a handle pole spring catch. The spring WILL slip and become useless.

That being said I LOVE my X-metal bracket. And now I am back to riding without a spring. (Pat if you start putting spring catches on your brackets LET ME KNOW)

I figured it would be tough as narrow as that pole is trying to fit a spring and cables and breather tubes and a bolt all the way through all into that tight of an area, but I have not tried it either. Lets see what you can do nature.

Dude no way a stock will take what broke ur AC pole though, if an AC wont take it nothing will, IMO A/C is ugly but tough. And dont hate on me Pat makes great stuff but dang that pole is heavy (but it is sexy).

i never had an AC pole. I've only ran stock ones as long as i've had a ski. The one I broke in the addiction was the only stock pole that I reinforced that I ever broke.
