x2 steering

whats up with the steering on these little jewels?
my bud just got one and its almost like theres no move ment in the nozzle
fully works but when in the water it just doesnt turn
he is just learning to ride so i wanna make it as trouble free as possible for him
any tips

Probably an '89 to '91 model - direct steer setup - they suck. Install a 12" piece of automotive brakeline over the steering rod from the stem to the bulkhead. This will keep the cable from bending.

for me, it's less about how much you turn the bars and more about leaning into the turn giving it some gas. Not sure if this is your friends problem or not though.
