Ok so i took my pipe off to get the hole fixed. Fixed it, put the pipe back in and now it wont start. Its not doing anything, i hit the start button and nothing no sounds no clicks nothing at all. Checked all conections, pulling the battery, charged it up, the bildge pumps work no problem but when i hit the start button i get nothing. Pulled my ebox, noticed the fuse was bad inside. changed it with the stock fuse that came in the ebox. put everything back together still nothing. it will turn over if i touch the positive battery cable to the stater cable. but when i try the switch nothing happens. Now i did notice that my start wire from the switch was coroded (sp). so i cut the bad out but where it connects to the ebox to the switches it is still bad looking, could it be that i need a new switch?

Also as a note, when i touched the battery cable to the starter one, the motor cranked but it would not start.......could it be a combination of the coil and start/stop switch maybe?

im guessing start stop switch, when i was in daytona same thing happened to me, first it would crank over and not spark, then it just did nothing. i got a new start stop switch and it all worked fine.... the saltwater didnt like my frest water ski.

check the wiring harness-visualy,i had this, used testers to check for continuity, all seemed fine!until i found a small pin hole in the pvc,the salt water had turned the wire inside to powder!!was about an inch from the start/stop,cut it out re-soldered,been fine since!

I had a few holes in the wire coating. Where the start/stop plugs into the conector before the ebox it was really bad, the conector peice is still are green coroded, i think that might be the problem becasue i had to cut back the other direction about 2 feet till i found good copper.

Put a new swtch in today...nothing. Took the starter cable and touched it on the battery cable to bypass the switch, i have no spark. Could the coil be bad and that maybe casueing it to not do anything when i hit start?

if you touched the starter cable to the hot wire from the battery then you have other problems. Most likely your starter is way beyond shot or you do not have a ground path.

Could be as simple as trimming tour plug wires back to be sure that the coil wires are making a solid contact with the plug boots. I have ran into this before on my SXR

Yes but then what is casueing nothing when i hit the start button? I press it and get nothing, no sound nothing. The day i took my dry pipe out to get the hole patched it started and ran fine, put the pipe back in, when i start the ski hit the green start button....nothing at all. Its not the battery, charged it nothing

I would assume it's your Start/Stop Harness. I had to change mine out last season. I got about 2-1/2 seasons out of it. You got all the right symptoms.

You will also have no spark if the tether cord button of the switch is bad. Are you sure the switch you put on is good? You can should check where the wires from the switch connect to the CDI in the ebox are good. It could be the CDI but I doubt it. You sure the ground cable is good?

Hey John, you realize right now it is not a no spark issue. His starter is not turning over.

Its not the starter solienoid itself that turns fine.

I got a switch off my friends old 750 sx that i tried and still had nothing. when the switch was pulled form his boat everything worked fine.

I will open up the ebox again and check my lines going into the CDI. Is it possible that the fuse they give you as a spare could have gone bad form being bounced around the last 3 seasons?

sry for the confusing typing.

Took my pipe out, had to get the hole fixed. The jetski started the day itook it out. Later that day i put the pipe in, not problems. Whent to start the ski and nothing would happen, when i hit the button nothing happened. I thought maybe the battery, tired that, chanrged it up still nothing. I now understand what you ment by starter solienoid, after re-checking everything i pulled my starter solienoid becasue i think that is the problem, sry i didnt read or understand what you ment kahuna, thats my own fault. Anyway with a new switch and solienoid on the way i feel pretty good about it starting up when i put the new solienoid in.
