I am having a hard time finding any info on Women's racing events other then the ones held in Japan. I am looking for a beginners class and not even sure if my stock sn sj would even be able to compete, but I would love a shot at it!? I am obviously not a hard core rider, but looking to have some fun this summer and didn't know if anything like this exists for females? I appreciate any help!

Freedom aint free no more
You could always just race in the beginners class with the fella's and kick there a$$?

Unless your a die-hard racer there just for fun anyways. IMO Good luck though!:Banane09:

It has been over 5 years since I raced region 6, but we used to have a decent turn out of girls. For your first race just doing beginner class with the boys is the other option. Come to GR some time. I will throw some bouys out and we can see if you are ready to give it a try.
It seems to me that the racing side of our sport has really died quite a bit. The freerides seem to be the thing that is growing. Just a fun, chill way to hang out with other people that enjoy your same hobby.

PM me if you have questions.

Thanks I appreciate it! Yea I would love to be apart freestyle as well, I just suck at every trick and figured maybe I belong more as a racer...who knows tho. It just sucks living in MI, I feel like when I am finally getting the hang of things summer is ending and its time to put the ski away, I don't wanna waist anytime this year and start as early as possible!

I know...this past weekend's weather has me ready for summer. Hope to have my new ski in the water next week.

For racing endurance plays a bigger role than you would think. I had a friend of mine that used to have a ski go along with me to a race one time. He hadn't been on a ski in years and I offered to let him race my ski in beginner class. He led the first few laps and looked really good. Then all of a sudden the just started to die and could barely stand up. He was a triathalon nut and racing skis still kicked his butt.

You don't need a fast ski. You just need to be aggressive and consistent. Eventually though if you enjoy it you will find yourself wanting more ski than what you have now.

Freestyle is very different than freeride.

My daughter started racing in Jr class then womens limited There was 2 women in the class so they combined the class to mens novice stock
She then just switched classes to mens novice stock and kicked some butt on the boys
My point is just go race beg then move to novice stock and have fun
Racing is not big enough to have a womens class in region racing IMO

Hope you find something fun! I would love to do a real race, but the whole system is just too damn confusing to me. If I could just show up and hop on the course, I would SO be in.
