its raining again!
Well had a change of plan over the last few weeks and ended up selling the stroker parts:no: Although i was making progress with the engine build, i felt it wasnt going to be finished anytime soon and decided i could use the money elsewhere.

With it gone i turned my attention to my 62t 760 and thought i should liven it up a bit for this year and it shouldnt take too long, or so i thought!

Got an ada girdle head (38cc domes)
Having the cylinders ported for freestyle by loki customs (sprocketq)
Carbontech carbonfibre reeds
Ecwi for mach 1 pipe
ATP waterbox
lightened flywheel
Already has msd enhancer, airfilters, mach1 and fc valve.

So stripped it down and found the crank wasnt as quiet as i thought it should be and on further inspection 2 main bearings are shot. Im pretty surprised realy that they've gone so quick, its a 2006 well maintaned etc. I had a ltd 650 from new in 1993 thats had the s*** ridden out of it and only rebuilt in 2006, crank was still good!!!

Anyway its off to be rebuilt so should be a sweet motor once its finished.

Not done yet!!!

But getting close, cylinders are on there way back from john at loki customs as i type. Just finishing reinforcing the insides this weekend and tying up all the little loose ends.

Have you ridden this yet? I've been thinking about scalloping the rear of my ski... wondering what your thoughts are.

I'll let you know how it handles as soon as i get it in the water.

I didnt want to go the conventional route of shortening the hull and thought scalloping the rear corners would suit my riding better, hopfully it will retain near to stock ridability then break loose alittle easier when i want, Plus not many people do this mod so its cool to do somthing a little different.

Been a few days since i last posted so heres an update. Got the scallops glassed yesterday, now i can cut out the sides of tray, dig out foam and do the bulk of the reinforcement on the inside.

Today i got the rear bond rail cut away and decided to do some cosmetic alterations to the nose. I cut the bond rail around the nose and tapered it back abit. I'll rebuild the nose flush and reinforce the inside. I have no reason for doing this other than i thouhgt it might look cool.

I was hoping to have more done by now but with it being the runup to xmas as usual ive left buying presents and other xmas related stuff till the last minute! so time has been limited ,lol.

Post pics shortly

fyi - cutting the nose like that will effect handling and you will get sprayed in the face w/ water all the time.

If you ask me shortening the hull is a cheap and rather brute way to get the desired results, resulting in a rather comprimised overall handling boat. Scalloped ends are a much more sophisiticated way to get the same thing with a better overall performer.

How do you come to that conclusion?

I have ripped the nose off my ski like 15 times and not always fixed it right away... not having that return flange on the front makes a big difference... at least I felt a big difference. I guess it depends on how you ride and all that too... It also provides structure to the nose in case you hit bottom, but that would be primarily a surf issue.

I dont ride surf as much as i would like and def not as much as you (prosuming that you only ride surf)? I could see that it may have an issue when hitting the face of a wave etc?

But i cant see how its going to have a detrimental effect for flatwater, The pics dont realy give a good overall view of it, but in person there isnt actualy that much of the rail gone at the front.

The underside and inside has been heavily reinforced for the very reason that the rail is gone.

Hopfully it works out ok but if not, well i'll have to re think!
