i like the atp parts too. i have the scupper, pump cone and some other parts in my SN.
so im redoing my tray and mod the hull a bit this winter and I want to run the atp footholds, but im not sure, because I have never been able to ride or even to see some. So haggis: how do you like the atp footholds. I ride with shoes all the time and have size 11, i think. is there enough space with padding and turf? thanks

The footholds are nice, im size 10 and ride with shoes aswell and its not a problem. The shape is good and they feel nice and secure, one thing i will mention is they're moulded plastic instead of composit and you need to watch when installing turf if your using heat, i managed to soften the hold a little and it altered the shape a bit.

Got a chance to do a little work today, used expanding foam to create a shutter for the nose ready for glassing tomorow morning.

Update

Got the nose all glassed and close to final shape, just a bit of marine filler to finish it nice and smooth. Also mesured out the hood and cut, i was trying to be fairly accurate with where i cut so that when the hood is finished it will hopefully still have the original line up the side and neatly flow into where its been lowered. you can kind of see it in the pics where its been foamed but will be easier to make out when its glassed. Once the top is complete i will extend the rear air ducts and rebuild the pole recess, i thought it would compremise the shape and strength if i did all this at once so im a bit from being finished yet!

Time for an update, been working a lot recently so havnt made a lot of progress but here's where im at.
After i lowered the stock hood I cut out the pole support and foamed void, also i built up the foam so i could re shape the new airducts and glassed them. Ive gind out the inside so i can do the bulk of the reinforcing internaly. Once thats done i can use a little filler to finsh.
Im also going to make a new baffle out of carbon/kevlar, that said and done im pretty happy with the way its lookng so far.
The hull is also taking shape, with the nose nearing completion i gave it a quick coat of black aerosol just to see how its looking and recon with one more light skim of filler it will be finished.
I also dicided to fit a set of R&D sponsons that i had laying around, ive gained 1.75" at the front of hull which should increase the stability a bit but still maintane ridability for flatwater.

Ive also been gathering parts for my new motor build, got a set of 62t ported/machined cases and a 6mm crank from chris at air time products, just need to get the cylinders re-sleeved and ported so i can start building.
On the intake side I already had a new 46mm R&D manifold and plan to order some v-force3 reeds this month, will run the 44s for the moment with a view to buy aftermarket carbs nearer the end of the year.
Flywheel will be lightened this week at work, after speaking to sproket at loki customs i decide to do it myself, i also have a device my dad made from his carting days for balancing so he can do that!
Exhaust was a bit of luck as i found the b-pipe manifold in the garage, I think it belongs to my dad aswell but he shouldnt notice its gone untill its too late, lol.
Finaly I bought a skat trak 12 vein magnum pump and thrust nozzle from ant burgess"s dad so thats on its way to me as i type. Cant wait to get this build finished.

Well didnt plan on this build dragging on for so long but cant seem to get time and its well into the season so things are going to have to change!

The hull is nearing completion now soon be ready for paint but have put the hood on hold for the moment as at this rate it'll never be finished.
Ended up buying a hood and nose piece from lee stone, should be here the middle of the week. He says its his own make but im not sure i'll post a pic and if anyone can shed some light that would be cool.

Mag pump arrived, it needed a good clean up, sand blasted the reduction nozzle, steering nozzle and trim ring then gave them a paint, think it turned out pretty good. 12/17 prop.

Lightend my flywheel at work took 1mm off the front face and 2.5mm off the side, havent weighed it yet.

Been running 0 degree bars most of last season and decided to ditch them cos they're too uncomfy. Ordered a set of starbar runabout highrise bars, been looking for a set with as small sweep as possible and these are about 30mm so i'll give them a try only £50.

Other than that just some other bits n bobs ordered to finish ski off and will be ordering RRP Pole in 2 weeks.

Hood/nose arrived yesterday and was pretty dissapointed with it! for a new hood the quality was terrible. So got intouch with lee stone and hes happy to give my money back which is cool, so cant fault him.

Hulls being painted at the moment will post pic shortly, sorting out graphics and rrp is ordered! will be starting the final build soon.

While im waiting for the hull been getting a bit bored so set about polishing the oem waterbox and exhaust tube, it'll prob dull down after some salt water gets to it but thought if I end up running a smaller cart tank, it would look nice when it all goes back together!
Also pole arrived today so got to building it up to make sure everything fitted good, nothing needed altering no probs. Not sure about the oem pole pad, looks a bit clumsy so recon i'll be ordering the rrp pad aswell.

RRP pole
ATP freestyle steering plate
Starbar runabout bars with brace removed
ATP billet throttle
Pro tec trim lever
ODI grips

Time for an update, so the ski is back unpainted, as they dont seem to be all that keen to actualy get it done! I was hoping this would save me some work and time but looks like im going to have to paint it myself afterall. If you want somthing done right do it yourself!
On the bright side after the problem with the last hood from lee stone, i decided to contact sergio at xft just to get a price for an x4 composite hood and ended up getting an awsome price on a full carbon x7! and it only took 7 days to come from brazil to scotland! I have to say that sergio was real good to deal with and made the whole buying expierance very easy, so big up sergio.
Finaly been missing the water a lot and managed to buy a stock blaster for the girlfriend, haha. It cleaned up pretty good.

finaly making some more progress now! got some under coat on the ski so spent thismorning flattening down, just the bottom to do tomorow and it'll be ready for topcoat. Decided to go with a nissan midnight purple (lp2) colour hence the black primer.

Im well pleased with the way everything's turned out, the finish of all the hull mods just looks like it was original concidering the amount of re-shaping, you only realy get an idea of how everything looks once its all one colour!

I also noticed on the hood and nose that the lacquer finish wasnt the best, it had a few runs. So decided to flatten it down with 1200 and re lacquer but i started to see that it had been painted along the bottom edge and around the edge of the nose. Turned out there has been a couple of small nicks and imperfections in the weave .

Now before i go any further i must point out that i bought this product from xft at at a reduced price and i am by no means complaning! i absolutly love this hood and nose!

Anyway the paint along the bottom and around nose hadnt been masked neatly so it was a bit oversprayie (if thats a word) so rubbed out, masked and shot some black basecoat around to finish. Think it'll look spot on when its all re lacquered.
