ok, my stock 99 boat is soon to be no more. As some of you might have read in my other post, I'm keeping my stock hull for now, and going to build it up. Right now I have xmetal steering and bars, and just ordered footholds and turf. Wamilton also sent me out a scupper which I don't want, so if anyone wants it I'll be selling that. This is what I want to do over the winter. I hope to install the holds soon to try them out before season is over.

What I'd like to do

1.Freestyle hood and nose peice - suggestions? Id like one that I can use my stock pole and blowsion spring.. I'm just used to it and its cut down already, and not broken.

2.Trim system
3. worx 201
4. Prop - I have no idea which one will work with my set up
5. pump cone
6. nozzel bore - unless trim system comes with bored nozzel?
7. Motor build up - this one I need suggestions. Id like as much power as I can get reliably with out going to the extreem.
My guess is B pipe (difference between mod and limited??)
ADA Head
MSD enhancer
Porting maybe (guess I need to talk to lehr or one of the engine guys)
8.Dual cooling since everything will be out.

are front exhaust worth adding like xmetal??
Thats all I thought off... I'm puttin it to the experts!

2.Trim system CATS
3. worx 201 Good Choice
4. Prop - I have no idea which one will work with my set up Skat 12-17 Freeride- Impros or Wamiltons
5. pump cone Optional, do cone or bored nozzle
6. nozzel bore - unless trim system comes with bored nozzel?
7. Motor build up - this one I need suggestions. Id like as much power as I can get reliably with out going to the extreem.
My guess is B pipe (difference between mod and limited??) B Pipe Mod Chamber if you are going porting
ADA Head Good Choice - have engine builder spec your dome size
MSD enhancer A must if you have pipe and porting, or modify your OEM to remove rev limited
Porting maybe (guess I need to talk to lehr or one of the engine guys) LPW or Team Scream
8.Dual cooling since everything will be out.

Definately add the scupper.

Also, you would be better off using the Wammer Bracket or X Metal Bracket if you are converting to a full freestyle ski.....

you might want to consider going through Wammer since you already have delt with him and he can provide you everything you are needing.... heck, he can build you up a nice engine package as well, not sure who is doing his porting now but I just ride one he had set up, it hit really well......

615 Freeriders are addicted to T1 madness.
I dont use scupper but twin bilges, yeah you wait but you dont sit and sink LOL.
Add a lightened flywheel to you motor mod list & maybe a set of 44mm carbs too.
Are you going to reinforce the stock hull?
For a prop I would suggest 12/17 skat swirl or 13/15 cut back solas concord

I forgot to add lightweight flywheel.

I have a single bilge but will add another.. I know what you mean about waiting but staying afloat. my ski sits in the water alot!

I like wammers stuff. I planed on running his hood, but he's not sure if the stock spring will work. I really like wammers trim system. I have heard good things about it too.. expensive but nice. His prices are high on some stuff, but when I talked to him he said he could hook me up on some engine stuff. I'm just wanting to get a list and a set plan!

Get a hold of Paul at LPW, he can port your cyl and lighten your flyweel, also use a msd enhancer, makes a nice freestyle package and a lot of fun to ride. not super expensive either

It’s a 99 SJ well then your foam is soaked so pull that tray apart and reinforce and refoam it will be a lot easier to put in scupper and trim system tube if the tray is opened up. If you are going to do it do it right.

I dont think my foam is soaked. I bought this ski of a kid who didn't ride it much. Said it had 10-15 hours on it. The inside and out of this ski was clean as clean could be. Only scratches were on the bottom from coming on and off a roller trailer. IT still had the stickers over the holes in the hull, which I removed and filled in with 5200. the registration sticker it had on it expired in 2004. and there good for like 3 years I think, The backend feels light to me, but I dunno.. I hope its not I guess I will know when I go to install the foot holds.

As soon as you start throwing it around it will get water in so I recommend sealing it up you will be glad you did.

Mark44

what do you mean seal it up? I filled in the factory foam holes, and around the exhaust tube and steering cable tube, before I ever put it in the water.

The bond line on the inside is a big problem for water intrusion and also the globs of sealant that are on top of the fasteners that holds on ride plate and pump.

The steering cable is also real bad place for water intrusion. Do it now while you are cutting to install foot holds and scupper valve it is extra work but will give you piece of mind that it is all sealed up. I didn’t even mention anything about installing drains yet.

It may still be dry. I just installed REV footholds in my 02 and the foam was almost completely dry, and one of my stickers was missing. I am plugging the holes before I get it back in the water. I'm not going to do a scupper either. I'd like to be able to not worry about it sinking if I leave it sitting in the water, especially living on a lake. When you put footholds in you can see how the foam looks. Don't know about ohio, but fl makes us register every year afaik. I don't think I saw lowering bracket on your list, I would add that if you are going with a custom hood setup. I probably won't be able to afford one though. I may try chopping my hood shorter this winter, the guys that did my footholds are awesome with fiberglass (friend of my dads who owns a boatbuilding business-stott craft), and they did all my work for free (footholds, shortened pole, and some other stuff) as a favor to my dad. If you have bigger feet you should definately go with the REV's imo, they are way roomier than some of the others I have seen, and the guy that put them in for me didn't really have any troubles with the install, and it looks like it came from factory now.
