Whew. Yesterday we were out at the lake with 2 21ft Baja boats to make a double up wave. Now the drivers had not done this much, so the wakes were not as clean as I think they could be, but it was awesome nevertheless. Big thanks!!
I pancaked at least 10 times . . . and I pull hard and look back - way back . . . so I came here to see if there might be some advice and found this
"a backflip off a wake and surf backflip are totally different in style and approach... If you want to get around on a wake flip, you need to approach the wake slowly then right before (you will have to figure the timing out) you hit the launch wake, blip the throttle, so the nose pops up and then drops down... right at the point in wich your nose is fully dipped you should be at the launch wave, sit down, pull back and grab all of the throttle. Then, as you shoot up continue pulling on the bars and remember you will be compressed in a sitting position, so just kick your legs straight out to a standing position and at the same time look back as far as you can to spot the landing... If you do these things at the right time you will get around, no doubt.. It took me a few attempts, but landed one clean... "
Which is exactly what I plan on doing next time we go out.
Luke, Tom and myself kept on trying until we were wasted. (tired, not drunk) Eventually I jacked my self in the face (helmet saved my chin, but I got cut - no biggie) Tom had the ski almost land on him (because he let go - I think) and Luke's ski, well lets just say it's under 35 feet of water on the bottom of Cheney lake.
Luke got the closest of any of us at about stab angle.
I'm superpumped to try the new technique described by out O-so-glorious Slut.
