maybe before 4strokes!!!!...plus having a bike more than 6months old is a big no-no at least here in socal...hey you only LOSE 4gs every year just on your bike..not to mention the 5gs on top of your bike purchase when you factor in a Ti pipe..Ti pegs, valving and some tripple clamps!!

tires every two rides
oil and fliters every two rides
it adds up!!
There are guys here that have to have a new bike every year too. Brand new, a year old, 4 stroke or 2... they are just as easy to pass.

I ran my stock CR 125 for 3 seasons. Only bought bars, sprocket, Tires twice, (we have real dirt here so tire last) chain, and 2 top ends (Less than $100 doing myself btw)

Never had to worry about DNR
5 gal of gas is more than enough for a whole day.
My bike never broke down. Maybe a flat tire here and there.
Tracks always have jumps. Waves/wakes come and go.

MX has lots of advantages, Jet skiing has some over MX too.
I like Jet Skiing better though, but that might be because I dont have a bike now. :(

A wave is constantly changing so you have to work at it.

That little bump at the track is always there, you can hit it as many times as it takes to get that one decent picture.

:swordfight:

Ummmm, we're not out there to "get that one decent picture"...........is that what jet skiing is about? Neither one is about that for me.........

cant get barreled on a moto!!!

plus every poser with a backwards hat with the bill flipped up is driving around with a moto not a standup in his ghey lifted truck with 40" tires on 22" rims

Right on bro!

It seems that mx is a style now, not just a sport.

isn't that part of the attraction?

I've said it before. I really like being part of a niche sport/hobby.

Not for me. I'd like to see the sport grow, or at least get back to where it was.
I'd like to see pro/top riders be able to make a good living in the sport without having to work a "real" job.
I'd like to see the PWC business have more customers.
I'd like to see more spectators at events.
I'd like to see promoters be able to have bigger and better events.
And I'd like to be able to earn a living shooting it all! :)

A guy can dream cant he? lol

i totally agree with you tim.

jetskiing is way cooler. where else can you find a sport that's 95% keyboard?

I like knowing the fact that when I bail going big on a ski, I hit water. Yeah you can still F yourself, but the chances are substantially less.

If I bail/crash on a bike going big it always ends up the same way....

MX is way more harecore the jetsking, I do both and I'm better at ski's cause it doesnt' feel so bad when you hit the water,

MX take's more BALLS!!!!!!!!!!!

thats the best part of mx. you can get a bike off the showroom floor, show up to the track, and be the baddest mf'er in town in 90% of the cases.

Hmmm Flat Florida tracks? I have been to some wimpy mx tracks in Florida, but We have plenty of difficult tracks with big doubles and triples. Also if my memory isn't to hazy, I believe the best #1 motocross and Supercross champions of the last 5-6 years have been from Florida(Stewart Carmichael etc. I think Mcgraths' last championship was in 2001?) they still show up at the local tracks that groomed them to crush the Cali guys. As for jetski vs mx? I prefer the ever changing conditions of the water over the fixed track or woods course. Plus not all jetskiers want to copy Mx, Bmx tricks. Some of us like to do JETSKI tricks(huge re-entrys, True barrel rolls, Subs, big throws, huge 180nose stabs) as well as the Mx/Bmx style tricks(back flips, flare's etc.). We just have to Think outside the box sometimes.

MUCH respect johnny. you are definitely NOT one of the keyboard jetskiiers.

heck, even Kelly Slater is from Florida. EAST COAST!

Skis are cool.. but at this point, being a weekend warrior and counting every minute of every day sitting behind this stupid desk down to saturday morning, i LOVE the fact that i can set my clock to the mx track. saturday mornings, i'm on the hiway at 7AM heading west.. by 9AM i'm riding one of the best, cleanest, most perfectly groomed tracks in florida with EMTs and a helicopter sitting at the edge of the track in case things go south. every corner, every lap, the surf is up 1000% at the track!

plus with mx, there are no mouths involved, no keyboards, and no excuses. you either put up or shut up. i love that. for me, there's no comparison. MX > JetSki

but, like i said, i got much respect for the havell. :veryhappy:
