Super Jet why are carbs so hard to pull?

I am trying to pull my duel 38's to install new jets. The nuts are so hard to get at. I bought a flexible socket extender and broke first time I used it.:261:



My flexible wrench cant get at the nut. Getting ready to say F it and pull the whole motor out to get at it. Is there some trick or something i'm missing?

Me i do it with a 12mm key, easy to do.

get you a stubby 12mm open end wrench. Years ago we got our time down to less then 15 minutes pulling cabs, rejetting and re-installing carbs all because of that stubby wrench.

You may even need to grind the sides of the wrench.

I use a custom stubby 12mm as well but have always thought the crowfoot wrenches would work perfect. Still haven't broken down and bought a set though.

You can always take the wrench that comes n the stock tool kit and cut the 10mm side off of it..I have used that n the past...

Also when putting the nuts back on, use a screw driver, thread the nut on the screwdriver, hold it there with your finger, place the tip of the screw driver on the stud and release the nut. Works like a charm!

I just use a combination wrench. It takes time, it's annoying but it get the job done.
