I have been running a NuJet 5.0 swirl type impeller since I started riding. It's what was in there when I got the ski and I did not even know what pitch or brand it was all this time. I also have a Solas 14.5/18 straight edged impeller sitting around. Which should give a better bottom end acceleration?
I am not sure what that NuJet 5.0 pitch equates to vs the Solas one.

I've never tried a Nujet impeller, but I have been running a Solas 14.5/18 for a few years. It rips pretty good... decent all the way around. I think you'll like it.

Although, I just switched to a solas concord 13/16 w/a 3mm set back at the recommendation of Impros. Can't wait to see how that performs.

What is the best way to find out which is the best prop for your ski? Buy it and try it? Would $40 be a good price for a used skat trak 7/14 variable pitch? Is that a good prop?

wow 7???

no good man....the best f/s props are going to be:

12/15
13/15--13/16 maybe even 13/17

concord or swirl......all cutback

but if you want a backup that woundnt be too expensive there seem to be lots of 14/18.5's floating around...

If you want to know the best prop for your setup... call dave at Impro, he will ask you some questions pertaining to your riding/setup and make a suggestion the will most likely be exactly what you want... that's what I did.. He was a very cool guy to deal w/...

Thanks for the imput. I also emailed a dealer for NuJet, & was told the NuJet 5.0 is more of a top end prop. So, I'll be using the 14.5/18 unless I find a decent deal on a concord prop.

I just talked to Keith at Impros yesterday... he gave me a good prop recommendation. Not sure if Dave is back yet, but Keith was very helpful. Should have my new prop in next week...

the 14.5/18 skat used to be the standard raceing impeller for the superjet.

I had onel, I asked around, and i was advised that it was too steep for a 650 superjet.

a 701 would likely pull it, but its not a bottom end impeller really either.

the skat swirl or solas concord are the ones to have, the lower the pitch the better.
