SO I had a funny feeling and decided to pull my reed cages today. Looks like one of stock metal reeds broke a corner off and another one was cracked and ready to go. I am 99% sure I am fine as it was such a small piece and haven't noticed any problems and have no idea how long it's been that way. IN fact the reed that broke was still sealing, while some others weren't sealing that well.
I plan on ordering a set of Boyesen's probably tonight. I would rather have the carbon or fiberglass as opposed to metal pieces going through the engine should I have any breaks in the future. Just not sure if I should go with the power or pro ones.
I'm leading towards the Pros as the price difference is only $10 and if I get a season before needing new ones that is fine.
My engine is 61x cases, 64x pistons/cylinder/head, stock 44 carb, factory b-pipe. The ski will be getting a head and pump upgrade sometime in the next few months as well and possibly some porting and maybe a lightened flywheel. So which would you recommend?
