FX-1 Which Reeds to get....

SO I had a funny feeling and decided to pull my reed cages today. Looks like one of stock metal reeds broke a corner off and another one was cracked and ready to go. I am 99% sure I am fine as it was such a small piece and haven't noticed any problems and have no idea how long it's been that way. IN fact the reed that broke was still sealing, while some others weren't sealing that well.

I plan on ordering a set of Boyesen's probably tonight. I would rather have the carbon or fiberglass as opposed to metal pieces going through the engine should I have any breaks in the future. Just not sure if I should go with the power or pro ones.

I'm leading towards the Pros as the price difference is only $10 and if I get a season before needing new ones that is fine.

My engine is 61x cases, 64x pistons/cylinder/head, stock 44 carb, factory b-pipe. The ski will be getting a head and pump upgrade sometime in the next few months as well and possibly some porting and maybe a lightened flywheel. So which would you recommend?

For best thrust your 760 will need a low pitched prop and raised rev limit. Higher compression and light flywheel have more to do with throttle response. Find any low tension fiberglass or carbon reed.

No rev limit on it and it currently has a Solas prop (19/26 I believe). I was just trying to figure out the best reeds for what my setup is/will be since I needed replacement reeds and don't want the factory ss ones.

I figured I would list my main mods and what will be on it in a couple months to ensure I get the most beneficial reeds for my setup. I guess it was confusing the way I wrote it. Was looking for recommendation of the Boyesen reeds for my setup, not which mods to do, heh.
