Which oil smokes the least?

It seems to me a lot of the opponents to the sport base a lot of there bias due to the smoke watercraft create so why not make a smokeless burning oil- or at least one that only emits a small amount of smoke. This is to simple of a solution for the 2-stroke powered industry so I'm sure some manufacturer has already addressed the issue, so what oil smokes the least?

Red Line makes smokeless oil but it's not cheap. Klotz makes some oil that smells like cologne but it's not cheap either. I run Penzoil Marine Full Synthetic and have for the last 3 years. The Penzoil is about $28 a gallon and produces very little smoke.

Use whatever oil you want and politely state to your opposer's that what you're doing is perfectly legal. The way I see it, the hippies will always be after something. It starts with the smoke from two strokes, then if you get rid of that it'll be the noise, then when all the boats and jetski's are banned from your local area, the lakes will be drained since no one can use them, and then the protesting will begin because all the fish were killed. Same thing goes with ATV's and dirt bikes. They destroy the woods and natural habitats until they're banned and then the shopping center will permanently destroy the woods because the woods are useless since no one can use them now.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm running low on my current supply of cheapo oil and am considering changing brands. I've been using the regular TCW-3 rated stuff for years and mixing at 40:1 and have never had any problems. The excessive smoke is the only issue. My launch/washout spot here in Oceanside is very public and is shared by joggers, kayakers and general beach visitors so with the super green push here in Cali I get the major stink eye at the boat wash out. It looks like the best option is to just step up and pay the extra cash to go with one of the synthetic brands suggested, I'm a firm believer of "out of sight, out of mind" and I definately want try to keep a low profile to keep as little restrictions as possible on the sport.

Klotz here for me too... I've been running maxima super m with no complaints but just built a new motor and decided to try something different for :):):):)z & giggles. So I bought some of that klotz super techniplate and I'm very impressed. Only on my 3rd tank but minimal to no smoke. It kinda scared me at first tank but my ski is running great...and as you've heard it smells grrrrreat!

Here in the Northeast we have the Kayakers. I don't get a stink eye but you DO note that every park in the Hudson Valley has yak access but zero power boat, never mind jet ski access, although most ramps allow skis. I had a conversation with a guy who used to work in Dept. of Environmental Protection. He told me the reason is that the yakers got a study which was mostly "totally made up" showing a huge impact on the river by power boat users, so no more "access". This for the Hudson River, which is used by everything from sailboards up to and including tankers bringing oil up to Albany.

I always minimize my impact, stay far from other boaters, and don't "jump wakes". There's enough natural ripple in the Hudson for lots of fun, and those tankers toss massive swells about a half mile away from the tankers.

If the first generation of standups were quieter, I think we would not have had the knee jerk reaction and bans in so many places-and then when riding areas were limited, the sit downs appeared, and a zillion guys doing "spin and look" didn't help matters.
