!!!! No one goes to Mexico anymore. Haven't you seen the news lately? 1,500 deaths this year. They are holding Americans ransom and then killing them. My friend had 4 Irish guys staying with her to visit the states. The 4 guys went to TJ to party. One of them was wearing a bathingsuit and had no where to put his phone and wallet. He gave it to his friend to hold onto. He was never seen again. The 3 guys drove back to Orange County without their friend. TJ isn't even the worst of it either. Rosarita and Mexico City are getting bad too...No one goes to Mexico...Especially with that new triple border fence we put in. Its kind of like an "F you, stay out" to Mexico.
I also know that quads are banned from the beach, that was recent too. Home beach owners kept complaining with all the rentals going by.

Back in the winter of 2007, in January to March, I lived in a city called Playas, just west of TJ, right on the beach. Yeah, there were alot of killings, but nothing ever happened out by us on the beach.
However, every day we'd see police pick up trucks with 3-4 guys in the back with mac 10's and AK-47 type guns...pretty intimidating.
I'd go to the shopping mall a few minutes from my house, and those guys would come through and eye-ball ya,....and it's a little scary. But I never had a problem.
Now that I think of it, there was a HUGE gang massacre at a hospital in broad daylight in TJ when I was there, and it's crazy but on Mexican TV they showed EVERYTHING LIVE....THE blood, guts, etc etc. I'm just sitting there at 3 in the afternoon, with my chin on the floor watching this play out LIVE.
Anyway, I wonder just how bad Rosarita is....might be a good place. Or maybe a bit farther south. The more rural you get, it's gotta be safer

Yeah having to cancel Mex Rager has been a sore subject bro. Mexico is the best…. Or at least it was, until the last few years. What’s happening is the drug cartels are fighting for territorial drug routes into the US and Rosarito and TJ are the epicenter of the turf battles. When you’re into selling drugs and killing people then what’s it matter killing or robbing a few extra dumb gringos to get a nice truck of ski? Better to lay low and stay away for a few years. Mexico has always been sketchy, that’s part of the allure, but recently it’s gone to far. When the Cartels get done killing each other Mexico will still be there and so will we! The Party’s moved to Pismo in Central CA now. Pismo’s fun, it doesn’t have the best waves but you can park right on the beach like in Mexico and if you have a Motorcycle or Quad there’s plenty of sand dunes to ride when your not on your ski.
The two times i went to Esterro Beach, just south of Encinada I would run into The Fish. We would ride all day and head into Encinadas and party all night. What a seedy arse place that was, oh the fun. Papas and Beer, The Cafeterria- etc. If the locals or police dont get ya, the drugs, hookers and other chit will. I dont know how I made it out of there safe- NEVER GOING BACK
