Whats this worth? And a question.

Curious what this ski is worth, the price seems good to me.
Superjet
2000, which has Ricther footholds, stainless steel prop, top loader intake grate, duel cooling, X Metal handle pole, trigger throttle, ported engine, front exhaust, 44MM Carbs, Riva Pipe, girdle stud head with interchangeable domes, MSD ignition, dual bilge pumps, scupper valve, Wamiltons hood.
Asking 3500 for it

...but i had planned on buying CarterB's SJ which has the following mods:
96 Superjet fresh paint. 2007 hood and nose. 2007 pole and bracket. New UMI steering and bars (0degree) adn throttle. New throttle cable and steering cable. Skat impeller. scoop intake grate. Yamaha extended ride plate. New hydro turf. Bilge pump.


And as far as the ported motor on the first ski, will that kill my top end? I want more bottom end, but i also want i ski i can run wide open for long periods of time. The first ski is probably an hour from my house at most, while carterb ski is in orlando.

the 1st ski you listed is a decent deal for all those mods. i would try and get him to drop it to 3k but its worth asking price if its in okay condition. its got prop,pipe,head, things that you'll need to buy for any ski you purchase. it also has a scupper and footholds so that will save you the time and money installing those.

The guy selling says its rattis (rad Rat) old competition ski. Its michaels dad who emailed me, so i would bet the ski is in pretty good condition.

So would i be better off paying 3500 for the first ski or 2650 for the second?

Also just curios, with the mods on the first ski, how do you think its top speed would be? I want more low end power, but dont want to get left behind when i ride out with our seadoo. The seadoo only does 45, and my 550 can just about keep up with it, but its stock.

I don't think its a good idea to go around 45 on your ski just to go to one place to another. I don't ever feel comfortable crusing at that speed. Especially in a high traffic area with waves. With low end power you will sacrifice some top end.

Of both the skis I would go for the first. More mods and if he is willing to come down a little I would defaintely jump on that one. The second one just has oem replacement parts, yes from a 2007 but really that is no different than what was on their before.

Wide open runs are great fun simply because of the uncomfortable feeling. Its always like your on edge just flying over the water. Ive fallen off my 550 once at top speed (not sure what happened, i think i had alot of water in the hull), and it was pretty fun still. I dont need a super fast ski, but id like to be able to follow our seadoo to a few riding spots or friends houses.

Any other opinions? Im leaning toward rattis ski (the first one) but i kinda hate to back out on carterb even though no final plans have been made.

Yep... Got an email yesterday morning. I was a bit pissed at first. Good to see its atleast gone to an x member.
Im really hoping to get an email back from him soon, i want to buy the stock ski he has but im not sure if hes selling.

I'm pretty sure that he is keeping that one. But im not sure. Btw do you live on Jackson lake or just ride there?

We have a house there, i live in mcdonough though. I actually just found out im probably within walking distance from rattis house.

Umm, down near the 212 bridge. Its back in a very secluded cove but not that far from the bigger water. Its kinda near where the Alcove meets the main part of the lake.

So im kinda bummed that he is keeping the stock ski...
I was pretty excited about the one you bought, but it was gone so fast i didnt have a chance to see it. Then i thought, well maybe i can just get that stock ski. Looks like that wont happen either. Time to kick the 550 work into double time so i atleast have one ski.

That sucks, but do let me know if its any time soon. Id hate to see you lose it but id love to pick it up. Right now im thinking about building my own ski but i think thats a bit over my head. Me you and ratti should meet up sometime and ride. Ive seen a couple other stand ups around the lake but never met any other riders. Ive never met ratti either but talked to him a little bit on here. It was kinda funny because i posted on craigs list and got a reply from his dad and saw that last name ratti. Turns out it was his dad and he lives right across the street, and both our dads work at delta i think. Small world.
