What's so great about billett throttles?

Other than looking better than stock, what's the great advantage to using an aftermarket throttle? Is it really worth the $50-$70? All opinions appreciated.

My friend had his stock plastic one just snap on him, then paid out of his a$$ to overnight a new billet one so we could ride on our vacation. Mine also broke where the throttle cable came into the plastic lever, basically had to use duck tape to make it work. The only advantage I see is that it would be much harder to break a billet one, but if you don't abuse your ski too much it might not be to neccesary.

the stock finger throttles do work really well, if you dont not plan to do any freestyle where you might be using your foot or leg to actuate the throttle, you really dont need one.

If its an SJ then it kinda sucks that you have only one choice on throttle lever location with the stock one. If that location works for you and your not doing hood tricks then stock would be all goo.

I recall your billeted finger throttle being a meat hook one afternoon.....ouch..

I second the SJ stock finger throttle they work fine just not as cool. Now the Kawi stock finger throttle is difficult for someone with a smaller reach. I changed mine out right away after I bitched about it for a couple of weeks. It is all personal preference.

I wish I had a camera it would have been good footage for Carnage, especially with your flesh still hanging on the end of the throttle........ I know I'm a little twisted:purr:

I totally reshaped my brand new Fly billet throttle for that very reason, that hook on it just looked scary as hell ,like something off a b grade horror movie.

I had my plastic stock throttle snap at Sebastian, and we had to use numerous zip ties so I could finish out the day. I put the billet ones on any ski I buy after that.
