I think it's UMI.
It's not shortened if I'm correct too .

Instead of chopping my pole I was wondering if getting a shortened plate would help and how much shorter they are.

I had a 97 pole shortened about 3- 4 inches and bought an 05 pole cause it's black and I wanted to try stock length but I hate it .
Now I dont want to chop if I don't have to but I will if need be .I want to go back to -3 or 4 .

Thanks :arms:

That's a std length UMI plate. If you don't want to chop your pole, buy a Blowsion shortened plate for 49 bucks. It takes off 1.5inches I believe - it's a big difference for small money.

Thats UMI and its NOT shortened.

My shortened turn plate take the handle bars clear back to before where your first screws are.

If this helps....

I agree with Matt, I was really suprised at how much the shotened turn plate helped. Mine was in addition to a shotened pole, but still a noticable diff for $50.

ya $50 bucks isn't bad money since I've already spent thousands at Blowsion anyway .do I just bolt it on or what ??
I'll try one of those I guess and then shorten from there if I have to .:arms:

That's exactly what I did. I ended up shortening the pole anyways, but just the plate change made a night and day difference. Not only for me (5'5") but also for another rider, same ski (6')

A nice thing about short plates is they also move the bars closer to the pivot so at full turn to either side, your hands aren't as far to the side so it allows you keep your body closer to the center of the ski.

cuting the pole is real easy. and alot cheaper than the shortend plate. I chopped my pole and got the blowsion plate. I have yet to ride it yet tho.

I just spent 10 bucks on stainless bolts and washers and $60 on some West Systems .
That's $70 already and a shortened plate is $50.
I know what your saying but it still costs money to shorten your pole and it takes more time than just changing the plate .
I like the idea of a -2.5 plate .I'll look into that one :arms:
