What Ski to buy next?

I just bought a 1986 JS300 a couple of weeks ago and I am hooked. I am 44 yrs old, 6' 1" and 185 lbs. I knew it was too small for the long term but I have 2 sons, ages 10 and 12 who already love using the ski. I only paid $350 for it and it runs great. My qustion is, what ski should I buy next. I don't want to spend over about $1000 so I know it will need to be an old ski but do I go for a 550 or do I need to get at least a 650. Are there major differnces between the JS300 and a larger ski besides the engine size and power. Any help of suggestions are welcome. thanks

I love my 550. Bought it for $700 with all kinds of aftermarket parts on it.

I'd be surprised if you can't find a 550 for less then $1000.

U would probably like a fx1, I think. I heard it's a 550 on steroids. :smokin:

I think you should go to a free ride. I'm always getting people offering to let me ride their skis. Too bad I didn't get to ride Kaveman's fx1. That ski looked like alot of fun! :shrug:

Look for anything with a Yamaha 701 in it. The most dependable engine. IMO

Squarenose 650 Superjet or get a kawi 750.

Both around 1200-1400 bucks.
