Well since I'm gonna be waiting a bit to get my hull and I made some extra money, I'm planning on buying a solas 144 mag!

I'd find dual carb cases and a set of 44s to go with them. Not only will it be more power, but it's a great platform for future engine builds.
The 144 mags are great and all, but I really don't notice a huge difference except in the surf with whitewash. As far as lakes go my ski would ride pretty much the same with either pump.

I'm kind of thinking of mods I'd put on during this season honestly.
I've been seeing some deals on TL for under 800$...im starting to wonder if I should go that route.

So for me I'm stuck between ignition or mag pump. I'm just curious why there aren't more people using hx3s.

I read this as I'm stuck between a headake and a mag pump. Here's how I think about it. Ignition can make you more power. More power = more likely things break. The mag will better use the power you have and as long as the bearings are pressed correctly it's not going to blow up anything. Ps: hx3's are awesome.

Good point. I'm not as worried about things breaking as I am about the best bang for your buck. My timing curve will be fairly mild.
Honestly, I do think TL would be a headache especially to install mid season. An hx3 would just mean swapping my flywheel and stator and bolting in a cdi, and still have a charging system. Mag would definitely be cheaper than an hx3,unless one comes up used.

I've heard of people having luck with 48s and 55s with 701 based motors. Honestly my pump is dialed in well and I don't wanna go through the fuss of bending props a million times. I'm buying a solas 144 already assembled with a driveshaft so im gonna go that route.

The HX3 is awesome, and it doesn't break parts as long as your ignition system is solid. I have one on 2 skis and it is a huge upgrade IMO.
