Great thread, heres where I am at today:

Jet trim Mat with lifter wedges and storage pouch
Riva Pole Spring, CF Wrapped Pole :)
Riva Racing steering and -0- deg bars ODI grips, RRP Pole Protector with face breaker nub removed.
Riva Racing Sponsons
Riva Stage 1 Tune
Riva Intake
WORX racing exhaust bypass
Solas concord 12/17 Impeller
Blowsion Tubbies
Jet Dynamics intake and Ride plate
Quick steer mod at nozzle
Custom graphics kit

Im curious where people are today with the intake Grade and Ride plate. Rec Riding, not racing. Seems like people were preferring the WCOT intake and ride plate over the JD, does that still hold true?

Also, have any of you started playing around with shortening your Hand Pole with OVP installed? I'm 5'8 and definitly dont think the hand pole is too short with OVP installed. Considering shortening and would just try it but already wrapped my hand pole and am hesitant to remove the wrap just to try it.

I have been testing different grates recently. The Blowsion 5 fin is a great all around intake grate with no braking affect. The WCOT grate has a braking affect and is awesome for running buoys, I like it a lot. I just put my Prowatercraft intake grate on and also enjoy it. It seems to have the hookup of the WCOT without the braking affect and so far seems to keep the pump loaded better, I definitely have les cavitation issues when running buoys. I'm going to spend more time with the Prowatercraft grate, but so far so good. I tried the Riva grate as it came withe the Stage 1 kit...its better than a stock grate but I ended up giving it away.

I attended Harbor Beach this past weekend & raced for the first time in about 12 years or so. I raced the 4-stroke lites class on my superjet and had a great time! Great Lakes Watercross put on a great event.

Saturday I stuck with my Prowatercraft intake grate, plate and sponsons. I struggled to stay hooked up in the race chop, especially in the super-tight split lane turns. I kept washing out and had to take the corners conservatively. I switched out my intake grate to my Watercross of Texas grate for Sunday and it stayed hooked up much better and I was happy with it. Both the Blowsion 5 fin and Prowatercraft grate are fantastic options for lake riding and you cant go wrong with either of them! I really enjoyed the Prowatercraft intake grate on my own course and thought this was my go-to, but in true race chop I struggled. I think the Prowatercraft grate has a lot of potential if I was to get into much better shape and once I acclimate to this ski. Personally, the WCOT grate is needed for legitimate racing, at least right now.

With that said, I am in nowhere near the shape I used to be and have been struggling to adapt to the flatter turning style of this new superjet....my leaned over Kawi riding style just doesn't go away. For reference I am 6'2 and currently 245lbs. I *thought* I was getting low in the tray but after seeing some pictures and video from race weekend, that is not the case (ha), and I'll be working on that. I haven't rode much in the past 6-7 years until picking up this superjet last July and have been having fun and enjoying riding again. I have a lot of work to do for whatever future race I attend, and this weekend was some great motivation!

As of right now, if someone was to ask me what grate to buy, my answer is this: Blowsion 5-fin for rec riding, Prowatercraft for rec riding & buoys, WCOT for racing/buoys. I have not done any speed runs and don't intend on doing so at this time, I'm here for the best hookup possible. I'm interested to try the WCOT 2.0 rideplate as well.

I hope this information is helpful to those making handling decisions
