Are you sure? I'd say the underpadding might be EVA but I doubt the molded or cut diamond stock is.

And are all their mats made from the same stuff? The pre-packaged grooved product seems softer (less dense/less durable) than the sheet cut diamond stuff.

They can probably make it any density they want to. The company I used to work for made a similar material but used it for a much different purpose.

it's all in the durometer rating, or density rating. rubbers of al kinds use this to specify hardness.

skateboard wheels run from like 78 - 105 ( hard )
i have some sheet urethane in 40 for vehical suspention parts ( bump stops)

i'm sure that our turf is regularly about a 20 durometer rating
