Putting a PJS throttle on a SN and I was wondering- the little rubber keyed thingy on my stock throttle cable- what is it for?
Do I trash it? Thanks!

Grommet

It's a rubber grommet, spin it 180 for what the picture show and it should slip in the to the frame of the finger throttle.

well, yeah it does go up in there, but because the PJS has a bigger hole (I had to use an adapter) it just pulls out every time you hit the throttle.
There is a plastic guide thing inside the PJS and maybe it replaces the rubber thingy? Dont think I can pull it off over the end piece :frown:

I would take the time to put it in. It is supposed to keep the water out of the cable. It's a worthwhile effort to protect an expensive throttle cable.

it can also come loose and cause your throttle to stick open, happened on mine with a friend riding it, ski took off across the lake........

I would remove it!!!!!!!

I just stuffed it into one of the extra openings on the trigger for adjustment like so.
That way it is still attached, but out of the way, and you can only see it from the bottom.

I choped mine off like Big K did. I had it in place and it was so tight that the throtle slid back slowly not a snap like it should be. I oiled it up and it worked great for a while and then the ski wouln't come down to idle while at the lake. So it went bybye via chewing it off at the lake.
