It's a rubber grommet, spin it 180 for what the picture show and it should slip in the to the frame of the finger throttle.

Dont trash it, it is an insert in your SJ throttle. Get it off the cable end and put it with the old throttle.

If I recall it wont fit into the aftermarket piece. Could be wrong though
well, yeah it does go up in there, but because the PJS has a bigger hole (I had to use an adapter) it just pulls out every time you hit the throttle.
There is a plastic guide thing inside the PJS and maybe it replaces the rubber thingy? Dont think I can pull it off over the end piece :frown:

The one on my old 90 SJ broke when I tried to slip it off over the cable end, but the one on my 02 did just fine. JUst got to go slow at it.

it can also come loose and cause your throttle to stick open, happened on mine with a friend riding it, ski took off across the lake........

I choped mine off like Big K did. I had it in place and it was so tight that the throtle slid back slowly not a snap like it should be. I oiled it up and it worked great for a while and then the ski wouln't come down to idle while at the lake. So it went bybye via chewing it off at the lake.
