What is difference between 650 & 701 electronics?

Im swaping a 1994 Yamaha FX-1 701 motor into my 1990 Yamaha SuperJet 650!

What are the differences between the electrical box componenets for a 1994 FX-1 701 vs. 1990 Superjet 650??

Would it be a bad idea to put the 650 electronics on a single carb 701 motor??

Any help much appreciated??

I believe 701 has a tad higher rev limit. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

this is true... lots of threads have covered this.

6m6 = lowest rev limit
61x = medium
62T = highest


don't know all the specific numbers.

It will not be bad, you'll want the extra revs that the 61x CDI will provide.

CDI - the square box looking thing with a bunch of wires coming off it.
