I think the motorcycle helmet might just be a bit heavy. The bell ballistic full face helmet I bought for jetskiing is very lightweight. It's much lighter than my expensive suomy moto-x helmet.
I ended up buying some asics wrestling shoes. They fit to my foot like a glove. I'm going to try them tomorrow.

paid $65 on amazon... i cannot believe how light they are but how much they feel like a comfy sneaker. They even have the internal elastic band over the arch of the foot like my skateboard sneakers do. The material feels like they will dry fast too.

Try "Spex" goggles. They're the best we've found and we've tried a LOT of goggles. We usually order them from Overton's. They drain instantly, they don't fog up, but they also don't completely protect you. They are better than nothing, IMO, and I can't ride without some correction. I've washed out contacts with and without the goggles, but the contacts stay in place better with, than they do without, the goggles.
Spex also can make you custom, prescription goggles, but they're more expensive and you have to order them directly from Spex.

Let us know how they work when wet... I had a pair of kickboxing shoes one time that seemed awesome with great padding... soon as they got wet they were very slick on the hydroturf... slipped and hurt my foot after about 2 min of riding...

well, the Nike wake skate sneakers I bought are by far way more comfy than wrestling sneaks. However, they slide out of my foot holds super easy. Not diggin that at all. Several BR's yesterday had me in some precarious positions while inverted...

Tricky had some Oakley Formula 1 racing shoes that looked like wrestling shoes, but they are expensive.
I use SeaSpecs and like them a lot. The adjustable strap is very easy to use. You can get them with prescription lenses, too.
