I wear Thor MX goggles with the foam ripped out with a MX helmet when racing bouys.
I am using the new Nike 6.0 wake skate shoes and love them. Way better than anything else.

Just wear contacts. I wear soft lenses and haven't had a single problem. Sometimes they need to correct themselves if you get smacked in the face, but I have yet to lose one.

I wear contacts too, but I have a slight astigmatism in one eye. It causes the contact to not sit perfect and moves around a lot especially with water in my face. I do like tight fitting sunglasses, and recently had a pair that had foam around the fame. I'll pick up another pair soon.

how high up/over on the ankle do they come (compared to wrestling shoes)? Just trying to get an idea.

I would call them mid-tops. Come up about the same as Jetpilot race boots just over ankle. The Nike shoes are made well, drain nice, are lite, have good traction, and still give cushion. The only draw back is the velco does come undone sometimes riding the surf. Still the best water shoes I've used in the past 5 years. I know DC is now making wake skate shoes. I might have to get a pair of thoses too.

cool... thanks. i'm not big on velcro... wish they laced all the way up like wrestling shoes do... makes for better ankle support.

thanks for the info though... i think i'm still gonna order up a pair to try out.

hey scorn. Do you just take out the foam for air on the top and bottom or do you also take out the foam that seals onto your face?

Leave the foam around outside of goggle that seals agaist face.
Rip the top & bottom foam out around frame. This lets water flow out & helps keep them from fogging. Also rainX both inside & out.

I used to wear cheap wal-mart sunglasses that fit pretty well around my eyes. loved it but went through 3 pairs in a week. Need a pretty darn good strap apparently.

I have my nipples pierced, and simply run an extra long strap on my sunglasses through one of my nipple rings. This way, when they get knocked off my face, they're still hangin' there.

I used to wear split toe surf booties, but they would occasionally slip half off. Then tried the Jet Pilot ski shoes and could'nt feel anything. They started coming apart after just a few rides.Luckily someone stole them. Idok hooked me up with some wrestling shoes and I love 'em. Good feel, lace-up so they don't come off, light when wet. Just need neo inserts for winter.

Do those nike water shoes come in any other colors than neon green?

Can you feel the ski well with the nikes? I rode barefoot (forgot my water shoes) and feeling all the pressure points was quite helpful.

I'm surprised more people don't wear a motorcycle helmet with motorcycle goggles. nice full face goggles, keep the water out on a big splash, and the helmet protects your head/chin/ear drums!
