what else can i do cheaply?

im looking for more bottom end power in my blaster.

it is currently setup as such:
riva girdled head w/35cc domes
riva red pipe with the recommended jetting
solas I prop
JD intake grate
JD ride plate
UMI steering

Mark was telling me about a cdi mod to remove the rev limiter, but will that give me more bottom end?

i want to port it but i dont want to have to run race gas, would a mild porting work? im not positive about my compression but i think its close to 165psi (havent actually checked it, just guesstimating)
CA only has 91 octane available, so i know im limited if i want to keep running pump gas.

can anyone help me and/or point me in the right direction to get the work i need done?

When I was running my my Riva Girdled head with 35cc domes I was pushing 185psi with a Snap-On gauge. I am sure you would be right around this range unless your motor is worn. I am still running the Riva head after porting and my compression is now at 160psi. Keep this in mind if you decide to have some porting done. I need to buy an ADA head so I can have some domes cut, and get back up to 185psi again.

The porting can alter the compression you read on a guage and the actual calculated compression, I would do some research or talk to the engine builder before putting smaller domes in to bump it back up.
SoCal, I would get ported you will definitly see a increase in low end and will not have to run race gas. A lighter flywheel can help too but you will see a bigger increase from porting. A B pipe would be nice to so you can fine tune your power.

A Hooker impeller would probably give you a little more bottom that you are looking for.

I realize this is an old post, but also noticed you were in San Diego. I'm at Fiesta Island every Sunday if you want to borrow my compression gauge if you haven't picked one up already.
