:17: I remember Stricky telling me i need something to tow the ski front and back. . . In the front i have a short strap. . .I dont have anything in the back and if i try to use a rope i cant get the knot to stay under the eyelet opening and away from the nozzle. . .If i use another short strap it will be too long and get in the way of the thrust. . .

What do you guys use?? . . .Do i just get a thinner rope? . . .I need to get both eyelets done with some kind of loop before St.Augustine.

SFL's , I'm calling for help.:dunno:

The main thing is to have the strap on the front. Its hard to get mad at someone for taking to long tying you on when you are the one getting towed. I would also make the loop on back as small as possible. Just enough to get a clip under which would keep it away from nozzle and keep you from getting hung in it.

Ya just need a small loop in the back. but even a couple inches is not going to impede your thrust... I use some of the unused length of a ratchet strap for my front and back. I like enough in the front to loop a foot through.

Those loops are so you can get hooked up and pulled out of those monster waves quickly right?

Right. . .I always had one in the front but it makes sense to loop the back too. . .Just in case i have to be the one to do the towing. . .Any other suggestions? . . .The unused ratchet strap sounds strong enough.

I'm trying to come up with a tow rope set up too. . .How many times do you wrap it around your waist? . . .In other words, how long a rope to use? . .

I just have a loop big enough to get my foot into on the front of the ski so I can hook my foot and grab the persons foot thats towing. Kinda ghetto but works well.

You should put tape or wire ties around the knot so it does not come loose on you .I used a piece of wratchet strap for the back of my boat too but could not pull it tight enough even with a square knot to keep it from falling off .So I wire tied it and it's good .

Of course if you tow someone with it than you could probably take off the tape or ties then because it will be tight enough to stay by itself

dont worry about a couple of inches hanging over the exit nozzle...wont make ANY difference....

tow loops and ropes are mandatory for the st. aug ride...DONT SHOW UP WITHOUT THEM!!!!

why do you think they call it slaughter beach!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

you can also use 3/8 inch marine rope and just make a loop....as far as a tow rope, we all wrap ours around our waist's TWICE...makes the rope about 5' long or so..

I use a 3ft rope for towing..
.5" marine rope for tow loops... Make the ropes about 12" in diameter

I just like to give you guys a hard time. We joke about the tow loop thing because so few of the oside crew have tow loops at all. I'll admit though, there HAVE been a couple times I thought, "damn, I wish I had a tow loop right now". Like a couple weekends ago when Ross' FX was sinking, and his TOW loop broke on the nose. The ski was going down, and we were fumbling to get the damn thing tied up.

Thank you gentlemen. . . .This is what I came up with for a loop. . . .I'm going to walmart to look for the hooks for my towrope. . . .

I'm a skinny f***er so 5' is out of the question. . .Might go around me more than 3 times. . .I'll get er done, though, i dont want to ride like a girl.
