what density foam should i use for putting foam in my ski.i read freestylegeek had problems with 3lb from us composites and didnt like it.the hull is reinforced in the back so will 2lb be good or go with 4lb?

I used 2 lbs, and it seems quite sturdy. Granted, I'm not hitting up surf, or attempting to pull anything too difficult as of yet. I figured with the weight I saved, I could throw some extra glass on the tray and still come out ahead.

I just used 4lb in the bottom of Katie's ski and 3lb in the sides. 3lb would have work just fine for the entire ski. I purchased ours from us composites.

i cant believe i just watched that whole thing...I was waiting for an explosion

BTW...ever mixed fiberglass resin @ a 1:1 ratio?

What about it? There are lots of different hardener options, some of them do mix 1:1.

not the one we used i guess.

there was alot of smoke involved. it was cool. you couldnt touch the can it was so caliente! arriba!

instructions are for losers.

I have done something similar on occasion before....it was pretty cold in Phill's garage, so we would microwave the epoxy to get lower viscosity.
Whenever we got it too hot and put hardener in, it would smoke & completely cure in 30-60 seconds. And melt the cup.
